JYC Day 12 - A Grinch about the weather

I had an indulgent, selfish morning off -dyed my hair, painted my nails and watched Christmas cookery programmes. I had to teach this afternoon, but felt nicely relaxed for it.

The only thing that makes me Grinch-like is the weather. The temperature didn't get above freezing today. How I would love to have a warm Christmas - very jealous of my brother who gets to spend it in Australia this year.

Talking about the weather, Shimelle hasn't made that a prompt yet, and I've got a layout to share, so I'll show it here:
This is a photo from 2010. It is in my Journal Your Christmas mini book, but I hadn't scrapped it at 12x12, and I felt it deserved a full page so, true to my plan for this year's JYC, I took inspiration from the prompts to make this. The kraft doily background page is Everyday Eclectic by Echo Park, and was in my Shimelle Christmas Kit. As soon as I unpacked the kit I knew it would be perfect for this photo. The 6x6 sheets are from an old Papermania Joyeux Noel Christmas pad. If you're a Glitter Girl groupie, you might recognise the sketch from a December GG episode; using 6x6 sheets in a 'messy stack'.

I only used 3 colours and the choice of red as an accent colour was inspired by a JYC In Focus prompt this year, about the use of red. The stickers are Crate Paper Sleigh Ride and the Alphas are by Jenni Bowlin Studios (also both in my Shimelle kit). The naked chipboard snowflakes were a cover gift with Papercraft Inspirations magazine which I inked and heat-embossed.

Why is that, when I have a lot of journalling I want to include, I struggle to find room for it, and when I have a perfect place for it, the picture tells all the story? I didn't feel I needed to add anything except a date to this one.

That's a fabulous page! I like the idea of a messy 6 x 6 pile - so I will check out Glitter Girl's episode. And you are making me wish I had Shimelle's kit - so I could scrap pages as pretty as yours!
