My convenience food shame!

Now that I've pretty much recovered from last week's bronchitis (or brontosaurus-itis as M called it) I've been in a sorting-out mood.

Firstly, my scraps box, as you've seen, then the kids' wardrobes (they've both had a growth spurt recently.) Today I made an inventory of what was in the freezer. It is only a month until we go away for the summer, so I'd like to use up what I have, and try to save a bit of extra holiday money at the  same time.

I can cook, but I don't enjoy it, or more precisely I don't enjoy meal planning every day for 2 fussy kids who do not like the same things. During the school holidays P and I cook properly but in term time, by the time I've finished work and driven the kids to their various activities, I unapologetically fall back on convenience foods. However, I was more than a little shocked when I listed the full contents of my chest freezer:

I've got enough meals there for at least 2 weeks. I've printed off the list and stuck it up where I can see it before I go shopping/order a takeaway.

What about you? When was the last time you saw the bottom of your freezer? Please tell me I'm not the only one who buys so much frozen food.

I recently did the same and found 5 packs of jumbo prawns i must have bought thinking they'd be useful, so we've had prawn curry, prawn risotto, prawn salad... you get the picture!

My sister bought 2 freezers and only shops once every 2 months for freezer and store cupboard as she hates supermarkets so much

I think I have more dinners lurking in the refrigerator than the freezer.

No, I do it too. I'm not a natural cook!

I dont have so much in my freezer. but i dont work the same timetable as you, and I no longer do after school activity and taxi-ing..and since ive been on the diet, we eat a huge amount more fresh food. Ive had to adjust all sorts, including the shopping...luckily, as you know, I work for our own business, so i have a flexibility that I know is almost priceless.
