We love Nibbles

I thought it was time the furriest member of our family (if you don't count my winter legs) made an appearance in my scrapbook.

This was one of several layouts I brought home from France in various stages of completion. I took a minimal kit with me so I added the teal stars and stickles here at home to give it some dimension.

The layout was inspired by an article in Histoires des Pages (a French scrapbook magazine which I love - there is loads of text as well as project pictures so it takes me about a week to read in French). It was about Project Life and included some 12x12 pages using  the divided page protectors as a sketch. Although I'm not doing PL, I thought this was a genius idea so I printed my pictures of the hamster at 2x3 and cut my papers to the same size.I used Ready Set Go by Amy Tangerine for the background, the A and B sides of Seen and Noted by Pebbles, and 2 sheets of Designs by Dani. The zigzag was cut from a scrap to disguise the area where the pieces didn't quite fit together.
To embellish it, I cut the doilies from the Designs by Dani sheet and arrow shapes from the Pebbles heart paper ( I think the arrows featured in a recent Sketch to Scrapbook page by Shimelle). I made sure that every embellishment I added was repeated in 2 other places to keep it from being too chaotic.

It's not my normal style, but I like the feeling of movement that comes from all the different shapes and colours. I will definitely try the PL-as-sketch idea again when I have several small photos to feature.
