A Graphic Page with the February Counterfeit Kit

Whenever R gets together with his boy cousins, all they want to do is playWii and XBox. It is not socialising as I know it, but it makes them happy. This page is almost entirely made with my February Counterfeit Kit, which in turn is almost entirely made up of Simple Stories Awesome pieces.

I stamped the navy cardstock with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink, using the cog stamps from the new Papermania Chronology Range. There are globes and old-fashioned pocket watches too, but the cogs were perfect partners for the Awesome papers. I decided to make quite a graphic layout this time. A full 6x6 sheet and a 6x4 journalling card plus 2 5x4 strips made the basic grid and I covered the slightly imperfect join with a 12" border sticker.

The square embellishments were also layered pieces from the 6x6 paper pad and I used this little handheld tape printer for the journalling. I only bought this recently, and I love it for boy-themed layouts, but I've totally forgotten what brand it is. Does anyone know? And does anyone know the best way to adher the printed strips? They are self-adhesive, but they keep on rising up off the page.

The layout was looking a bit flat, despite raising some of the stickers on foam pads. On a more girly layout, I'd be reaching for my Stickles and glittery brads. Today I substituted small wooden beads and Glossy Accents to give an epoxy-like shine without bling.

I loved that range by Simple Stories. My boys are in Army Cadets and it went with it perfectly. I just bought that cog stamp and you make me want to go use it!

That tape does look really good for boy layouts, what a shame it keeps un-sticking. I love the stars too! x

I love that row of stars in circles across the page - really supports your lovely clean graphic look. I'd be tempted just to add some glue or a swipe of Herma under the offending strip!

Love the stars and gears! Perfect for a boy page! My boy does the same thing when his friends are over. The video game way of socializing must be a boy thing!

My nephews are the same way when they get together. The tape dispenser you have there, I believe, is by K&Company/Smash (here's a link: http://www.eksuccessbrands.com/kandcompany/Products/K_Company_SMASH_Label_Maker_30-664609.htm). I have the same one and have the same problem. I have used both a stapler when it was close to the edge and E6000. I was totally bummed that the tape didn't stick on its own!

Great page! And great idea to use the tape for your title. I would use my ATG tape to stick those strips, they look about the same width and that stuff sticks to anything.
