Scrapbook Remix - Layered stacks

This photo is one I pinched from my Mum, because, although it's not a great picture of my son, it's actually really good of me - and that's much rarer!

I sprayed the kraft background with French Vanilla Glimmer Mist to give it some shimmer (you won't be able to see it in this horrible November-light photo, but it is there) I put dots of red and green ink on a diagonal, then covered them up with the paper because I didn't like it, then ended up by adding some more dots of green and red rhinestones in the same place again at the end! But no-one else knows that. OK?

The layered stack is yet another inspiration from Scrapbook Remix - really loving this class - as is the reversed-L shape. I started with the photo and the 'All I want' card then went through my Christmas scraps picking out any red or green papers. I cut them to even shapes and layered them up randomly. The glittery letters were left over from my LSNED box and the embellishment cluster in the top corner was made up of offcuts and a flag cut from a journalling card. I think the little wooden hearts are by Dovecraft.

I did have an issue with those cards - On the B-side were some lovely 12" border strips and it was impossible to use one without ruining the other. So I sneaked it through the colour photocopier at college and printed the borders onto another sheet of card, then I could use both.

What a great layout! I'm loving the class too and I think your interpretation of the design is fab. Well done on all your Christmas organising too. Thanks for stopping by my blog during the hop.
