2 layouts from one sketch

This sketch is another from Shimelle's Scrapbook Remix and shows how adaptable a good basic page structrure can be.
'Graduation Day' is another of my old college photos which I'm working through for my 'I had a life before I was married' album. I tried to keep it simple and serious, as befits the occasion.
The floral paper by 7Gypsies and the Bazzill Basics dictionary paper were mounted on DCWV yellow cardstock and the join hidden with blue ribbon to match my garduation outfit.
Shimelle gave exact measurements for the second strip of floral (the other side of the 7Gysies sheets) and the cream vellum (by The Paper Company), which I did actually measure. With an actual ruler!! Very proud of myself!
I then madf a mortar board embellishment and a roll of vellum. The journalling box is from a French Scrapbook magazine, and I cut it in 2 to use in the top embellishment cluster as well. 2 pennants of offcuts and a couple of layered Prima and Dovecraft flowers finished it off.

The second layout uses precisely the same measurments, but has a very different feel. The florals on 'Body Art' are all from the same A4 kit, but cvery bright and busy. Not the sort of thing I use often. This one seemed to need extra layers to pull all those patterns together.
The circular embellishments were inspired by another Shimelle video, but they are a bit clunky for my liking and I don't think they really fit well, even though the green circles in the 2 layer were cut from another sheet from the same kit.

I think i prefer 'Graduation day', but I'm sure I'll try this sketch again another time.

Scrapping two photos together like Shimelle has become a bit of a staple in my scrapping as well. Love how you've used the same idea so differently, and especially love your layered embellishments on the second one.

Oh my gosh - they are so different in color and feel (but both wonderful).
