WOYWDW

'Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday Dear Kirsty,
 Happy birthday to me!

It's my birthday, and I have a full day of work and Mummy-taxi duties ahead of me, so this is a scheduled post for you to read while I have breakfast in bed and open my pressies. (Dream on, Kirsty!)

I want to say a special hello to the people I met last Saturday. It was so nice to put faces and voices to the blogs. Zoe is a tough and brave lady, Jo is so generous with her skills and her inks. Lunch Lady Jan's cooking is everything it was cracked up to be.  I feel really 'in with the in crowd' now that I've met Shopkeeper Gal (I was like a kid in a sweet shop when I saw all her gorgeous papers - I can only get overpriced packs at Hobbycraft so I treated myself to the sheets you can see atop the printer), Mary Anne, of UKScrappers and Scrapbook Inspirations fame, and of course the lovely Julia herself. We even got a party bag to bring home, but I haven't had time to tackle my crafty challenge yet.
The girlies. (Photo courtesy of Jo, as I arrived just in the nick of time to jump in, but not in time to take my own shot)

More time was spent eating, chatting and admiring other people's work than doing any myself, but I did manage to create a prototype ID chain, which is much prettier than the printed ribbon we were issued with.
My plan is to wear it at college for a week or so and see whether I get told off by any of the (all-male) Senior Managers. If not, and if I can get hold of some safety catches and large keyring clips online, they will make brilliant gifts for my colleagues and my children's teachers. Watch this space.

I do love to leave new stask lying around on my desk for a bit before it gets absorbed into the drawers, but I have had a tidying frenzy this week and my corner is the only one left to be tackled, so hopefully it will look more respectable next time you visit.

I'm postponing celebrating my birthday until the weekend, so I'll tell you all about it soon.

Happy belated birthday Kirsty, hope you got to celebrate at some point, and have that breakfast in bed, that would be the best present ever for a busy Mum. Great post, have loved seeing all the photos of the crop and reading everyone's thoughts too. And a chance to shop, who could turn that down??
