Still remixing it up

This page is a composite of elements from several Scrapbook Remix prompts. I started with the idea of a pale background and an MME paper with  corner details (prompt 4). I have had this Jingle Bells sheet for at least 2 years so I decided it was time to just cut into it. You can see where I cut it, as I forgot to photograph it until afterwards.

I then went through my box of Christmas scraps and found several green and red pieces. They are  mostly by My Mind's Eye or Bo Bunny and most of them are B-sides (Prompt 3) because the scale of the pattern is better on small scraps (prompt5). The pale gold background is by DCWV.

I cut out the bell details from the corners (prompt 4) and mounted them in from the edge on pop dots, then layered up the scraps in a haphazard 'messy stack' (prompt 2).

The title stickers would not have shown up  well on the background so I matted each letter separately on dark red card and mounted some of them with popdots.

This is an old photo from 2008. I have a pile of old Christmas photos which have not yet been scrapped in my 12x12 annual albums, largely because I've made separate books for Journal Your Christmas for the past 5 years. I've decided that this year I will focus my JYC time on catching up with those photos, so you'll be seeing a lot of them over the next couple of months.

Our church puts on an 'Instant Nativity' every year in which children take part in an impromptu performance. The unstructured feel of the layout (forced on me by the irregularly sized scraps) fits with this impromptu theme, I think.

So there you have it -one page inspired by 4 separate prompts. Another remixed page. And another Christmas picture in the album where it belongs. This class is proving to be very productive.

This is so lovely! You did a great job with the patterned papers. I'm just loving Shimelle's Remix class!

Your messy stack and double corner work really well together: double fun! Glad you are enjoying it - off to see what we are all up to.

I really like the way you've mixed the papers here - yeah for getting another Christmas photo into the album too.

Our Christmas Day meeting has the kids putting a creche figure into the creche 'as they feel moved' during the Meeting for Worship. There is meant to be a pattern but you often get cattle arriving before shepherds and the kings can get there first, the middle and last :) Helps them learn the story tho'.
