So, what is on my desk?
- A finished layout waiting to be put away:
- A nearly-completed 80th birthday card for my 90 year-old Nanny to give to one of her friends, the template I used for the dressmaker's dummy on both of these projects is underneath. Nanny is my biggest fan, as a grandmother should be, so my Christmas present to her was 'vouchers' which she could redeem with me when she needed a bespoke card:
- A pile of assorted white papers with which to begin the difficult task of creating a sympathy card. I'm thinking about a stitched patchwork effect, as the friend it's for is a quilter, but if anyone has any good ideas for sympthy cards, I'd be grateful for them.
- The bulging green file is my scraps box. I think I need to do something with that! The precariously balanced mauve tin contains all my most necessary 'go-tos'. The tools I use every time I craft. here's a quick pic, I mught post a list next week.
- There is also my pink file of French oral notes. My exam is next month so I am revising hard, but I'll try to find time to visit some other desks. Have a good week.

Great things on your desk, glad you shared them! I am in Surrey too, and it's wet again... Happy WOYWW even in the rain, Helen #22.
Good luck in the exam.
So many things on your desk and yes a list of what your regular items are would be interesting, to compare with for curiosity sake.
Thanks for sharing your desk.

Honestly Kirsty, I don't know how you do it all! GREAT gift idea for your Grandma, and I expect that she's a courteous customer who gives you plenty of notice! I LOVE the Dance LO, it's beautiful - changing the photos to sepia gives it a whole new look - genius idea.
The card looks great, love the stencil and what a great idea for a present for your grandma.

Great idea with the voucher. I gave one to my Aunt and cousin it's for 12 cupcakes once a month for a year! They love it.
I'll have to do one for cards next time, a great idea

Like the cards and good luck with the exam. No advice on the sympathy card I'm afraid - I cannot make them and always just buy one as I find it too hard to find words to say. Thanks for sharing - Sunshine Girl No. 20

A lovely creative view of your desk Kirsty. Looks very busy too. Hugs from Scotland. Rita 67 xx
That's a great idea for your Grandma's gift. I often parcel up my cards in half dozens for my friends' pressies. They love them and I feel better that they don't have to pay me if they want one.
Happy Wednesday!
Well a busy desk must be a creative mind!

Lovely, busy desk! Hope the orals will go very well.
Happy WOYWW
It appears you and I attended the same organizational etiquette class, lol.
Love your finished layout and especially seeing the pretty card for your granny. Thanks for sharing.

Good luck with the Exam!
I'm afraid my 'scraps' box is a lot bigger than that and I sadly need to be ruthless next time I do clear out!
Thanks for sharing,

Sympathy cards are hard to make, so much emotion involved I think. I think subdued colors work best with minimal embellishments, no bling. You'll do well with yours. I like the idea of sewing together a patchwork since the lady was a quilter. That shows you put special effort into it. Thanks for sharing your workdesk and your piles with us. I'm pro-piles myself!
The LO looks lovely and the 80th birthday card is great. Good idea to give the vouchers. - (Hazel, #173) x
I think the quilting idea is a good one, as your friend is a quilter. Love your desk and lovely card. Happy WOYWW, Anne #61
Love the look around your desk. And the mauve tin. I have a similar one, but much smaller for all those little things that are created that don't quite make onto the finished piece. Have a great week.
Unfortunately I believe we are having the 'wrong kind of rain' and it won't help with the ban! Love the voucher idea, that is very clever. Good luck with the oral. Cindy #43
Loving all the fun things on your desk but how in the world do you work with that fun mess?! hee hee
Love your smile quote, too.

((Lyn)) feeling very old at #102!
good for you managing to fit things in..... I need to figure out a better way to do that....even if I have oodles of time in my day it seems I procrastinate ...and then.... end up doing nothing some days. Well..not totally nothing...but, you know what I mean...
Must be many projects in progress, right? What would we do without all the baskets and bins.
Good looking desk with lots of fun things to see! Good luck with your exams! Vickie #41
Ok, now i don't feel so bad about my ...(cough) mess, lol, at least you know where you're going too, right.......:))

I'm really late visiting, but simply HAD to take time to stop by for a short visit. I've really, really missed you. Had a peek at a few other posts while I was at it. Love the scrapbook pages.
Bleubeard and I are # 11.
Ooooh, I like the colours in your layout and card. Delicious x
Hi Kirsty (it sunny in my part of Surrey as I write this). Love your dancing page and wondered if you saw my page hanger on a previous post. Got the idea from a magazine, where you use a trouser/skirt coathanger the ones with the peg type holders and clip your page in there and hang it up out of harms way before putting away. That way you get to look at oyur creation for a while too. I decorated mine too, hang on I'll look up the post.............
