10 Things on the 10th

Welsome if you've come here from Shimelle's 10 Things on the 10th.
I've got 10 photos to share with you today. Some good, some not so!

I was very  pleased to be voted in 1st and 2nd place in our family photography comp with thsese two pictures. My nephew chose the theme of Snow and Festive Fun, this time round. The current competition is a Photo Scavenge Hunt, with clues set by Yours Truly.

1. First place with 7 votes
2. 2nd place with 6 votes
These are shots I was proud of. However, I'm not always so successful. So here, to prove my point, are some of the worst photos I've taken recently, and then the improved version thanks to Photoshop.

3. BEFORE Would have been OK, if I'd bothered to move a metre to the left

4. AFTER. A bit of cropping and some colour adjustment and this is a good picture of my parents and my son.

5. My daughter is pulling a silly face
6. Still the silly face, but with the focus taken off it onto the ballet shoes
7. R lost his first tooth - I had to take a photo, but it was December and he was ill so the light is awful and  so is the angle.
8. PSE 'Flashlight' filter makes this picture quite interesting

9. BEFORE Really don't like the phone on my camera!

10. AFTER There was nothing I could do.
This is one of my mother-in-law's pictures of the same lunch taken with her (posher)  phone

That first photo is absolutely stunning, and you've done a great job editing the others. I laughed at the last one - if all else fails, get a photo from someone else at the event!

Great photos. I love the candle shot. Very nice! Photoshop does come in handy. My photos are vastly improved with just a few adjustments. I'd have to actually learn photography without it. :)
