What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? July 2011

Hi everyone, come in. Please excuse the mess. You've caught me in the middle of setting up several projects to be done this week. I like to collect a pile of possible papers and embellishments and create a 'page kit' for each LO/card before I start actually making anything.

Sorry about the slightly vertiginous angle. I hope you can see:

1.My laptop, ready to print photos of today's Nursery Sports Day (and post to you, of course). There are 2 cards on top for colleagues who are leaving at the end of this term.

2. A bag of essentials from Hobbycraft, ready to take on holiday. I'm trying to avoid using double-sided tape at the moment as it seems to make my hands really dry and sore, so I bought a few tape runners. It's a more expensive way of doing it, but I think I'm allergic to the glue on DS tape. Anyone else have this problem?

3. My precious punches and scissors.

4. The remains of June's Counterfeit kit, which needs to be put away in my scraps box.
5. Some oriental papers for a layout about Fathers' Day at a Chinese restaurant. I'm got some matching chipboard pieces somewhere.

 6. Some black and purple pieces, which I was sent by the lovely Rinda at Gallo Organico. I need to make a sympathy card tonight so I thought these might be suitable.

7. A kite-flying LO which is proving difficult. None of the photos was great so I cut them all into kite-shapes and now I'm struggling to place them. I originally created the background in Item 8 for this LO. I didn't have any sky-blue cardstock so I tried to create a cloud effect with ink and bubble wrap on kraft card, but I didn't like it at all, so I had to buy some blue CS anyway when I went to Hobbycraft.

8. The above-mentioned stamped background, with the additon of some footprints to make a layout about R's new footsplint. I have never scrapped about the splint R wears on his left leg - a big omission in a record of our family life - and when these pirate themed papers arrived with my copy of Scrapbook Magazine the day after he got a new skull 'n' crossbones printed one, I knew I needed to remedy this. I had  lonely foot-shaped funky foam embellishment lurking in the bottom of a box which I used as a stamp.

9. A lovely red and denim embellishment kit from The Make and Create shop which I won from Lesley.

Thanks for popping in. Hope to see you again soon.

I do like to see a busy desk! After all you know what they say - empty desk, empty mind! That's what I tell myself, anyway..

You have some lovely pictures and papers, I like the blue skies too - makes me happy! I find there's no saying how things are going to sell at any fair I attend. Some of the ones where I thought there would be lots of disposable income have drawn a blank while I sold most at a place where I thought I'd be taking everything home with me!! So, I'd say, check out all the fairs around your area, particularly in private schools and just give 'em a shot. I haven't put any of mine online yet as the normal sites like folksy/notonthehighstreet/ebay are chockablock with similar stuff. Good Luck and thanks for commenting on my blog :D xx
