Remember these? 10 things on the 10th

Do you remember?

1. Sherbet Lemons, Midget gems, Strawberry Bonbons, Flying Saucers -
all sold by the 'quarter'
2. Skipping rhymes: 'Salt, Mustard, Vinegar, Pepper'
3. Clapping games: 'When Suzie was a baby,
A baby Suzie was'
She went waa, waa, waa-waa, waa'
4. Brown knitted Brownie hats with pom-poms on top
5. Ra-Ra skirts, leg warmers, batwings, blue eyeshadow, black nail varnish
6. 'The Kids From Fame', 'Grange Hill', 'Tucker's Luck'
7. When Michelle Fowler had her baby on 'Eastenders'
8. 'Just Say No'
9. Playmobile sets, Cluedo, Rubik's Cubes
10. When the Spectrum ZX81 was the height of computing genius - could you program it in Basic to spell your name across the screen? I could!
If so, I know exactly how old you are! (and that you're British)

This post was the 2nd '10 Things on the 10th'. Pop over to Shimelle's blog for more ideas.

Sad to say I remember brown Brownie berets, so I guess that makes me slightly older than your target group!!!

No recall of numbers 2 and 3 or Michelle Fowler, but not because I wasn't around, I just seem to have missed!! Great list Kirsty, how fun!

Oh man, I was disappointed that I remembered only a couple things from your list...But, then I realized, I'm not British!!

So our version of the clapping Suzie song went like this:

Miss Suzie had a baby
She named him Tim Tim
She put him the bathtub
To see if he could swim....

I remember all those things, especially the brownie hats, my daughter was always losing hers! Good job I can knit! Thanks for the memories.

Ha ha - I'd forgotten about the brown pom pom hats for brownies - thank you for reminding me - I seem to remember my Mum having a photo. I will have to look it out. Great post :0)

I'm Canadian, not British, so lots of your list was lost in translation, but I definitely remember batwing sleeves, blue eyeshadow, legwarmers, black nailpolish, 'The Kids from Fame' and 'Just Say No'. I won't admit to how old I was then, but I had outgrown Brownies!

I got lost on over half of the list~so you now know I'm not British:)
