Explore - A Layout about Me

This layout featuring my Explore self portrait is an unusual one for several reasons: I rarely scrap photos of myself and very rarely include any introspective journalling - my albums tend to be commemorative rather than reflective. The layout is inspired by the sketches Shimelle provided with Explore Prompt 5 (I can't show you as it is a paid class, but at £10 for 4 weeks it's very good value, so have a look here if you are not already following it). I have used a series of 9 circles, though I went for a line of small buttons rather than a block of punched circles, and my journalling is on a postcard printed from the Internet.

The journalling reads:
'I'm usually the one behind the camera. Mainly because I love taking beautiful photos, but also because I never like pictures of myself. The person I see in the mirror and in photos is always older and fatter than the one I imagine (and getting more so). Wearing glasses and hearing aids has undoubtedly made me see more clearly, but I don't always like what I see!'

Gorgeous, layout I love the colours. I am another one who very rarely scraps myself.

I can totally relate to that feeling - what I think I look like and what I actually look like are two different things! Can you tell there might be a birthday in the offing round here lol

It's lovely to see you reaching out with your journaling and self portrait

Great LO Kristy and well done on scrapping your own photo! Great journalling too - I have the same thoughts when I look in the mirror or at any photo of me too!

Your journalling is so spot on, how many of us don't like what we see when we look at things around us. Brilliant post card too. Enjoy the holidays.
