A first taste of summer

Look what we picked today in the garden. The first strawberries of the year. I am the world's worst gardener and these strawberry plants are entirely self-seeded and un-nurtured, but they regularly produce the mist delicous crop. .Apparently, after the warm dry Spring we have had, we we are due bumper strawberry crops very early this year and the strawberry season could be over before Wimbledon begins. Still, I'm looking forward to a few weeks of freshly picked strawberries on cereal for breakfast, homemade strawberry ice cream and jam, strawberry shortcake. You name it. Yum!

It all sounds good to me Kirsty - though what will everyone do at Wimbeldon if there are no strawberries! ;-)
