One photo- more tham twenty words

Thank you for your comments yesterday when I started my gardening project with M. You all agreed it was a lovely day for gardening. But that was not what I was thinking. I don't think 20 words was sufficient to explain how I feel about gardening.
 I have NEVER gardened.
I understand the appeal it has for others. But not me. Not yet.
I like projects that have a clear result. Tick. Finished. onto the next thing. Gardening isn't like that.
My garden is an unloved, overgrown mess and I am ashamed of it. I'd love a pretty garden where I can sit and enjoy the sun, but I don't want to do the work involved.
So for me to have donned my gardening gloves yesterday was a pretty major event.
This is going to be a BIG project and at the moment it is very much a chore not a hobby. The space I cleared yesterday is going to be M's area (I will have to take on the rest)so I hope, with her enthusiasm, it might become a hobby.
I'll keep you updated, as clearly many of you are keen gardeners. Any advice/encouragement will be gratefully received

Oh, I can't help you as I feel the same way as you do... my previous attempts always left me discouraged because the bugs got to my plants or I forgot to water them :( I am going to try planting basil and mint tomorrow, unless the scrap table calls me louder!
Good luck to you!
