December in Numbers - and plans for 2014

My last Month in Numbers for 2013:

2 baby teeth lost
2 Pantomimes seen
4 Carol Services sung
4 Sightings of Santa
7 days of antibiotics
8 tastes of turkey
8 people for Christmas lunch

I think this will be my last one. I've enjoyed counting my months with Julie like this for the past 2 years but I need to change it up a bit.

I've decided to give Project Life a go. I did it weekly through our summer holiday and through December with Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas but I don't think I could manage that in term-time. Life is much too busy and our term-time routine is too samey anyway. So monthly it is,  and if  I have lots of photos from one event or week I can always an use extra page protector.

Being me, I like to get organised so I have put all the PL cards I have in one box, where I can also store memorabilia through the month. I have a 2014 diary ( a freebie) which I will use to jot down notes of what happened when.

I typed my journalling for JYC and I like how it looks but it was a bit of a pain. Maybe I will set up a template in Word so I can type as I go and print them all in one go. Or perhaps I will handwrite it. Haven't decided yet.

I've been browsing other PL boards on Pinterest and stolen some good ideas. One is to  include more current events as it will be interesting to date things when we look back on my albums. I also like the idea of including screenshots of texts and social media. So much of my life takes place on screen these days that it should be part of what I record.

So, that's what I'm thinking at the moment. What about you? Any plans to journal/count/record 2014? Any advice for a newbie Project Lifer?

Happy New Year to you and yours!

happy New Year right back to you and yours too Kirsty. I hope 2014 is a great one for you all.

I think you'll make a fine job of PL - it's a great fit for your week in review style of recording. Best of luck!

Happy New Year! Hope it's as successful as 2013 for all of you. The children will be so grateful for the lovely record you're making and you'll have so much to look at in your long distant dotage... keep going Rachel x

I never quite got on board with MMIN, though I love reading others. And I don't think PL is for me. I do Photo Heart Connection each month to review my photographs.

It is the weekly commitment that has always kept me away from PL but I have done a monthly spread (as part of Julie's Month in Numbers) and that seems to work perfectly so I think I will continue that way.... whether I use numbers or not I am to sure yet... Good luck with your PL!
