Saturday Round Up. 21st September

How on Earth can it be Saturday again already?
Actually, it isn't because this is a scheduled post, but still the week has flown by.
Why have I scheduled this post? Because on Saturday I will be in Oxford for a good friend's Hen Weekend. I'm really looking forward to it. I promise to share some photos when I get home.

This week has been largely work-oriented, with yet more evening enrolments (so glad they are over now), a training day on the new online mark book system and several issues to deal with from my tutor group. They are a lovely bunch of young people, approximately half and half ESOL and British-born, but a lot of them are going to need TLC to succeed at 6th form.

R had 2 teeth taken out by the dentist and felt pretty groggy afterwards. We are hoping this may avoid the need for orthodontic intervention later.

M had 2 play dates. One at home and one at a friend's house.

I had my car MOT'd and serviced. Ouch! £400 later, I'm good to go for another year.

Scouts and Rainbows, swimming, karate and drama  have all restarted now and both kids have signed up for various afterschool clubs as well so I am expecting to be busy every afternoon from next week. I firmly believe that the extra-curricular activities are as important, if not more so, than what they learn in lessons so I won't complain - much!

..and when you get to the point I'm at, with a school leaver this year, you'll be able to look back with great satisfaction at the time and care you put into all those activities. They appreciate it when they look back and marvel at it all
