Do you fancy a cuppa?

Tea is my favourite drink. Making a cup of tea is the first thing I do when I wake up and the first thing I do when I get home. It has to be in a china mug with a white inside (I like to be able to judge the colour and strength exactly) Milk, no sugar and a biscuit. That's just my cup of tea!

I'd love you for pour yourselves a cup and come in for a chat, as we join Abi in her clever Tea Post Blog Hop.

I'll try not to moan too much about the rotten week I've had, but since children and teaching are really my only topics of conversation, it would be hard not to tell you how frustrated I was having to miss work this week because M was unwell. I'll admit that I  can't wait for my Mum to get back from her 25-day cruise because I miss the childcare. I feel guilty about saying that, but I trust you.

I'll tell you that this September has been a long month. We have been back at college for 4 weeks and I still haven't done a normal week's teaching. Instead I've been juggling enrolment, tutorials, meetings and all the things I enjoy least about my job. I can't wait to get into a normal routine next week. Now all of that is finished and the kids' after school activities have restarted I won't need so much extra childcare, though. Typical!

I also won't be able to resist telling you how proud I am of the fantastic start R has made at secondary school. He has joined 3 clubs, earned 20 Achievement points and been elected Form Rep. We are eating his first ever piece of Home Technology homework for tea tonight - a layered salad!
Can I show you soon photos from the hen do last weekend? I'll explain how I know my friend A from teaching together over 10 years and how much I'm  looking forward to her wedding next month, especially as R (her Godson) is going to be Ring Bearer.

And then I'll offer you a top up and another biscuit. Since I am trying to avoid wheat products at the moment, I'll ask whether you have any suggestions for gluten-free alternatives to biscuits. Macaroons are nice, but there's only so much coconut a girl can eat!

OK. I'd better go and order a takeaway pizza to go with that layered salad - seems like a good Friday night plan. See you next month.
