Much as I'm loving scrapping the pictures from our Harry Potter trip, I needed a change so I decided to make a soft girly layout with this photo.
I wrote a post about his doll here for Sian's Pick Your Precious Storytelling Sundays. I had originally thought about making a mini album for all my PYP posts, but I'm not really a fan of mini albums so I copied out my post to provide the journalling on 2 very old jouranlling cards from a wedding collection. In fact all the stash I used was at least 6 months old - fitting for a page about a very old dolly.
I've been holding onto this lovely blue floral paper by Creative Imaginations for several months, and I was happy to find a story and the photo which fitted with it.
I have had this stencil, which contains various card greetings, for a long time,. But I hadn't used it and the lettering hadn't been punched out so I realised I could use the word BABY and the number 40 for my title. I think the papers were also Papercraft Inspirations cover gifts - they were certainly A4 and I never buy that size. The bunting, baker's twine and the doily are all by Dovecraft Tea Party from last summer.
The pearls are a new purchase, but they are also Dovecraft and the little mouse cut out is a private joke with whoever looks at my album, since M's family nickname is Mouse.
As I so often do, instead of tidying away my scraps I punched them into squares and made a very quick birthday card.

What a lovely layout - I especially like the banner & your journal tags.
I used that same background paper on a layout last summer (http://melissagross.blogspot.com/2012/06/grandma-remembers.html).
Great layout! I"m planning to do a mini album myself.

It's so lovely to see this story scrapped..hasn't it turned out beautifully? Well worth using that paper!
A lovely LO of your story....and a great idea to use the scraps for a card.
