JYC Day 15 - reality check

My tree is up and the presents are beneath it. There are cards all along my bookshelves and  my living room would look very festive if it wasn't such a mess, but today that all seems very insignificant.

In Newtown, Connecticut, 27 families have woken up this morning to a future without their children. I imagine that under their trees too are lovingly bought gifts which will never be opened. It is too sad for words. Whatever the story of the gunman, whatever his 'reason', nothing can excuse this sort of tragedy.

My heart goes out to the citizens of Newtown.

Oh Kirsty, me too. I can't even imagine what those families are going through. Thank you for your post.
