More scrapping achieved

These were taken on a cross-Channel ferry in June. We travelled on M's  birthday so the entertainer made a special fuss of her. Her costume was colourful, to say the least! It was also the Jubilee weekend so there were flags and lifesize Queens well. I decided to stick with the polka dots but limit the colour scheme and I quite like how it turned out.

Just before we left the UK, we had a 'Cocktails and Canapes' family party. The fun decoupaged figure and patterned papers were left over from a Papermania 'It's a Man's World' card kit.

This layout of R setting off for Cub camp is based on a sketch in Scrap 265. The embellishments are much busier than I would have done by myself, but I like it. I haven't got any Glossy Accents or staples here with me, so the string is not adhered yet.

Finally, another page kit I Put together before I left home. Although we missed the actual weekend, I was able to help out at the Jubilee street party at my daughter's school. Predictably, this features Papermania Portobello Road papers and bunting, cut from a commerative newspaper. The rest of the Portobello Rd kit will be saved for my Paralympics page(s). I doubt there are many scrappers in the UK who won't make at least one page this year with Union Flags and bunting! I used a heavy hand with the Vintage Photo Distress Ink to give it a 1950s feel. The silhouette cameo is a portrait of me, created by an artist in Honfleur, France in 2000. I had it in a frame for several years, but I got bored with it, and I thought it suited here.

I think you did a fine job with that 1950's feel! (and that silhouette is simply lovely)
