Stitching on a Layout, or What To Do When There's Football On.

The bright colours in these pictures were quite scary. I like using bright colours, but I couldn't see how to work with the yellow until I found the blue cardstock and polka dot strip which matched the ball perfectly. Not wanting want to overwhelm the page with lots of patterns, I stuck to 3 different colours of polka dots, plus a sheet of notepaper torn from a Smash pad. The large flowers are cut from the A-side of the pink polka dot Bo Bunny sheet.

I needed a way to bring the blue to the fore and break up the blocky design so I decided a circle was required. I love the effect of stitching on other people's pages. However, I don't have sewing machine so marking round a plate, piercing the holes and then hand stitching  it all took a long time - exactly the same length of  time it took for England to lose to Italy on penalties, in fact! I would much rather sew than watch football.

I finished it off with glittery pink Thinkers and Ghost Shape flowers which I coloured with ProMarkers. I'm really happy with the result - which is more than can be said of my husband who was watching the football match!

Perfect colors for those photos. I have to say that I'm loving the football myself.

Gorgeous LO and the colours are just perfect. I tend to knit when the footy is on :-)

It's lovely, love the bright colurs off setting each other and the circular stitching was a genius idea. I did nothing so wholesome whilst the football was on - played Draw Something with Miss Dunnit!!
