Just One Sketch

I still don't have a pinter or scanner so I had a go at creating my sketch for Kirsty's class in Paint. Not great, but you get the idea. I then rotated it 90 degrees, 180 degrees and flipped it horizontally to give me 4 sketches, which I will be able to choose from during this class.

I won't show you them all; I'm not sure that they look very different, because of the triangular formation, but I'll give each of them a go.
Here's my first layout, based on my original sketch. I used most of the design elements I had originally identified but I moved away from my planned triangular format because I wanted to follow the line of the flowers on the Kraft Kuts This Girl paper, which I highlighted with my Sakura Clear Star pen to give them some sparkle. The star paper is the reverse of a My Mind's Eye Christmas paper.
I know that any scrapbooker worth her salt has dozens, if not hundreds, of flowers but I have...er...11! because I resent paying shop prices for them.
I decided to get out the Flower Loom which came free with a copy of Simply Handmade magazine and spent an hour making flowers with embroidery silks. I enjoyed it and I'm quite pleased with how they turned out. My daughter loved them (which makes them appropriate for the LO) so I made her an extra one and attached it to a safety pin as a brooch. I like the idea of trying thin jewellery wire next.

Thanks for popping over to see me and your kind comment.
I am so enjoying doing 'just one sketch' and seeing what everyone else is up to. Love the layout and I know what you mean about the flowers even though I have a few more than 11...

Love your page Kirsty. I never buy a flower unless it's a huge one to take apart. I make all mine from fabric, paper, embroidery floss, string, wire, anything!! The last lot were made with glue & cotton. I find making lots at a time very therapeutic

I love the idea of making your own flowers out of silks - they turned out gorgeous! I normally make mine out of layered paper, but now I am going to try your technique too - so adorable! And that looks like a fun class - making your own sketches? - neat!
