These are some of my daughter's first Christmas cards. Biased I may be, but I think they're pretty good for a three-year old. She is so enthusiastic about joining in whenever I get my crafting stash out. I have to hide my favourite bits, but it will certainly reduce the number of cards I'll have to make this year, as I know family members would far rather have one of hers than yet another of mine! I might even have time to make some for sale!
While M was whipping off 4 cards, I managed to make1! The gold trees are recycled from one of last year's Christmas cards and it is my first attempt at brayering, after having been shown at a crop. I don't know what i'm doing wrong though - it's very patchy. Any help would be appreciated. I'm using pigment inks as that's what I had, but they are quite old and not very 'juicy'. Is that the problem?

I've done very little brayering, but the one thing I know about it is that you have to go over and over it lots of times to build up an even colour. I guess if the inkpads have started to dry out though that would make it a bit patchy? (Still looks good!)
Oh Kirsty how lovely the baby's cards are, and yes I think you're right about family's preference for this year!
Brayering , I likeyour background, but I think it's easiest with dye inks and if you have any, try it on gloss paper, the ink blends soooo well. Also roll in one direction all the time, on the ink pad and on the card - it's a discipline! I start off the card and finish off the card as well, then you can't see my awful stop lines!!
